Baking soda then vinegar unclogs a kitchen drain
The fizz is the two cancelling each other out.
Do this insteadA kettle of boiling water with two spoons of soda, poured slowly in stages, clears grease far better.
Why it works
Soda is a base, vinegar is an acid. They neutralise into salt water and carbon dioxide, so what goes down the pipe is mostly water. The fizzing looks like work but does almost none.
